Over a period of 14 years from 2006, Cool Science has had the privilege of working with large numbers of children from nearly 400 infant, junior and primary schools in England. After a slow build up, visits reached a peak of 125 visits in the academic year 2009/2010. That year brought an income of £22,960. Increasingly in recent years, the emphasis has moved to outreach, working with museums, carnivals and science days for the public. In each of the last 3 years only 4-5 schools have requested visits.

The total mileage recorded to date is 148,00 miles covering 18 counties from Cumbria to Surrey. The total invested in capital assets was £ 14,707 and each year also brought considerable running expenses. Fixed costs include liquid nitrogen and BOC contracts, public liability insurance (for £5 million) and website fees which altogether comes to about £ 1200 per year plus van running costs. The latter item is now much reduced owing to smaller annual mileage.
